It was never in doubt that DUCK Norris would be one of the best to ever win an Iron Duck Championship Series season title after last weekend. The only thing left was to nail his place down in history as THE GOAT.
Mission accomplished!
After capturing all four of his weekend races (for the third weekend in a row), 13 straight and 15 victories overall, the QUACK-Action hero turned DUCK-athlete cemented his legend.
“It’s what I worked for the entire off-season, training in less-than-stellar conditions with so much rain in the winter, drought conditions this past summer and having to avoid that damn eagle that kept attacking our racing facilities throughout the year,” an emotional Norris told a press conference gathering Sunday afternoon. “I think I got a lot faster and a lot stronger running away from that eagle, but the weather made me resilient.”
Once again, Norris reiterated that he realized his abilities after everyone thought it was a fluke he captured the very first race of the season (back on Oct. 1st) and then watched fan-favorite MALLARD Monroe win the next three. “I knew different. I knew how much work I’d put in. I also knew once the season got rolling, I’d get my waddles under me and be off and running. Just took a weekend and then it was over.”
And now Norris has become the all-time winningest Iron Duck Championship Series DUCK-athlete, surpassing several racers that had won 13 times over the coarse of the IDC’s 10-year history – The IDC series, presented this year by Bootleggers Bar & Grill and SEFNCO Communications, started in 2013 and has attracted top-notch QUACK-letic fowl from its outset.
“We’ve had some greats – Christy BEAKly in ‘21, QUACKie Chan, QUACK Black,” said longtime race announcer and QUACKmaster Dennis Riley. “But there’s no doubt that DUCK Norris is now the greatest of all time. When DUCK Norris raced this year, it was like he was the only one out there and even his race mates were fans.”
Norris was tied with upstart MALLARD Monroe at 3 wins apiece heading into the third weekend, but Monroe never won again.
“I had little doubt DUCK Norris would come out with a fowl attitude this weekend,” race founder Steve Templeman noted. “He’s a grinder and a competitor. Nobody was going to touch him this weekend!”
For the weekend, a total of $39 was raised for local nonprofit Celebrate HARVEST through the “bets” that race fans placed (in the form of a donation) on the races. For the season, $270 was raised. A total of 46 “bets” were placed for the weekend. MALLARD Monroe had the most bets placed on her with 13and also led all bet placements for the season with 73.
Here are the results after the final weekend:
DUCK | WINS | BETS WKND | BETS TOTAL |
---|---|---|---|
#1 – QUACKIE Chan | 0 | 7 | 57 |
#2 – DUCK Norris | 15 | 10 | 67 |
#3 – Sir QUACKS-a-lot | 0 | 11 | 61 |
#4 – Christy BEAKly | 2 | 5 | 48 |

QUACK-Action hero has won last 9 straight races and will look to become winningest ever in IDC series
He will stand atop the Iron Duck Championship Series greats come this Sunday, even if he doesn’t win another race. DUCK Norris once again won all four of his races this past weekend at Maris Farms to take a commanding lead and secure a season series title in the Iron Duck Championships with 11 total wins. The nearest challenger – MALLARD Monroe – only has 3 wins with 4 races remaining. It’s over.
“I came here knowing I wasn’t just a QUACK-action movie star turned DUCK-athlete,” Norris told a press conference gathering Sunday afternoon. “I took the first race of the season, and everyone thought it was a fluke. I knew different. I just buckled down and started stringing wins together and all of the sudden, here we are.”
Yes, here we are. DUCK Norris has now won 9 straight and can become the all-time winningest Iron Duck Championship Series DUCK-athlete with 1 more win this weekend. He’ll likely smash that record.
“He is racing with such confidence, there’s no one in the field that is even competive with him right now,” said duck-race announcer and QUACKmaster Dennis Riley.
Norris was tied with upstart MALLARD Monroe at 3 wins apiece heading into the second weekend, but Monroe hasn’t won a race since the first weekend and has basically been a non-factor these past 3 weekends..
On the other hand, Norris has seen study progress each of the next three weekends of competition for this month-long Iron Duck Championship Series, presented by Bootleggers Bar & Grill and SEFNCO Communications.
“I don’t think he thought many were giving him credit after that first weekend,” Riley said. “He made an adjustment with his attitude and his confidence soared. He doesn’t believe anybody can touch him now, and he’s right.”
Norris will be vying for an almost unfathomable feat come this weekend. If he can capture 3 of the final four races, he will become the winningest DUCK-athlete in Iron Duck Championship Series history.
“I predict it’ll happen,” said QUACKmaster and race founder Steve Templeman. “He is a fowl competitor right now, nobody can touch him!”
For the weekend, a total of $52 was raised for local nonprofit Celebrate HARVEST through the “bets” that race fans placed (in the form of a donation) on the races. Over the first four weekends, $231 has been raised. A total of 52 “bets” were placed and DUCK Norris had the most bets placed on him with 17. MALLARD Monroe leads all bet placements with 60 for the season. Racing will resume this weekend – Saturday and Sunday at 1 and 3 pm – at Maris Farms.
Here are the results after the fourth weekend:
DUCK | WINS | BETS WKND | BETS TOTAL |
---|---|---|---|
#1 – QUACKIE Chan | 0 | 10 | 50 |
#2 – DUCK Norris | 11 | 17 | 57 |
#3 – Sir QUACKS-a-lot | 0 | 10 | 50 |
#4 – Christy BEAKly | 2 | 13 | 43 |
#5 – MALLARD Monroe | 3 | 12 | 60 |
QUACK-Action hero captures all 4 weekend races to take command of Iron Duck Championship series
DUCK Norris once won an underwater breathing contest…with a fish. And this past weekend, the QUACK-action movie star turned DUCK-athlete won an above water, two-day racing contest against his fellow Iron Duck Championship series racemates by capturing all 4 weekend races to take a commanding lead in the season series.
Norris was tied with upstart MALLARD Monroe at 3 wins apiece heading into the weekend, but Monroe hasn’t won a race since the first weekend and has melted under the pressure as well as the nearly 90-degree weather these past two weekends.
“Yeah, I’d be lying if I didn’t say that weather didn’t effect my spirits…and my hair,” said the blond bombshell known for her little bob hat on top of her head. “After that first weekend, I just haven’t been able to capture the same competitive spirit. And racing in sweltering heat the last two weekends has drained me.”
Conversely, DUCK Norris has become re-energized these past two weekends. Norris has seen study progress each of the three weekends of competition for this month-long Iron Duck Championship Series, presented by Bootleggers Bar & Grill and SEFNCO Communications. He captured the first race of the season Oct. 1st, won two races on Oct. 8th and then all four this weekend.
“I’m no stranger to this sort of pressure and competition,” a confident Norris explained to a full press room on Sunday afternoon. “MALLARD that first weekend was the BEAUTY and the BEAST. She’s still a BEAUTY, but I’ve now become the BEAST to contend with.”
Indeed he has.
“He is one tough duck,” said duck-race announcer and QUACKmaster Dennis Riley. “And he doesn’t like to QUACK-talk, but I’ve noticed him getting a bit more chippy of late. I don’t think he though many were giving him credit after that first weekend. He’s made an adjustment with his attitude and now he’s looking pretty unbeatable.”
For the weekend, a total of $46 was raised for local nonprofit Celebrate HARVEST through the “bets” that race fans placed (in the form of a donation) on the races. Over the first three weekends, $179 has been raised. A total of 61 “bets” were placed and DUCK Norris had the most bets placed on him with 25. Norris leads all bet placements with 57 for the season. Racing will resume this weekend – Saturday and Sunday at 1 and 3 pm – at Maris Farms.
Here are the results after the third weekend:
DUCK | WINS | BETS WKND | BETS TOTAL |
---|---|---|---|
#1 – QUACKIE Chan | 0 | 7 | 40 |
#2 – DUCK Norris | 7 | 2.5 | 57 |
#3 – Sir QUACKS-a-lot | 0 | 8 | 40 |
#4 – Christy BEAKly | 2 | 6 | 30 |
#5 – MALLARD Monroe | 3 | 15 | 48 |
Meltdown weekend for MALLARD Monroe
DUCK Norris, Christy BEAKly fly high and back into Iron Duck Championship series title contention
MALLARD Monroe’s roller coaster start to the season continues. After reeling off 3 straight wins and taking command of the Iron Duck Championship series points lead in weekend one, the beastly beauty went winless this past weekend and opened the door for two racemates – DUCK Norris and Christy BEAKly to gain ground and momentum heading into weekend #3.
Norris, who captured the first race of the season Oct. 1st, won both races this past Saturday and BEAKly took both races on Sunday. That now gives Norris and Monroe 3 wins apiece and BEAKly 2 victories. And it makes for an interesting twist to the month-long IDC series (presented by Bootleggers Bar & Grill and SEFNCO Communications) title run.
“I honestly just felt much more at ease this weekend,” said Norris, who was second to BEAKly in both her Sunday wins and second to Monroe in all of her victories last weekend. “I’m starting to get a feel for the course and the crowd and the other DUCK-athletes in the field. I wasn’t expecting MALLARD to drop off like this, but she always seems to regroup. Christy may be a bit of an underDUCK, but she’s got plenty of sass, so I’m not going to take her for granted.”
BEAKly showed some moxie on Sunday, winning by several beak-lengths both times.
“She may not be quite the movie-star status of MALLARD,” said duck-race announcer and QUACKmaster Dennis Riley. “But she’s got some get-up-and-go, and she got-up-and-went when it mattered on Sunday.”
Yes, the black-and-blue beauty was dominant in both races and feeling very good about her chances heading into weekend #3. BEAKly said she made an adjustment both mentally and with her attitude after listening to and watching Monroe.
“The large crowds had an effect on me that first weekend,” BEAKly explained in the final post-race press conference Sunday afternoon. “I listened to MALLARD’s presser that weekend and took what she said to heart – just like practice, just like all those smaller races I had dominated, keep my whits about me and go do what I do best. It worked.”
For the weekend, a total of $45 was raised for local nonprofit Celebrate HARVEST through the “bets” that race fans placed (in the form of a donation) on the races. Over the first two weekends, $133 has been raised. A total of 54 “bets” were placed and MALLARD Monroe had the most bets placed on her with 14. QUACKie Chan and Monroe lead all bet placements with 33 apiece for the season. Racing will resume this weekend – Saturday and Sunday at 1 and 3 pm – at Maris Farms.
Here are the results after the second weekend:
DUCK | WINS | BETS WKND | BETS TOTAL |
---|---|---|---|
#1 – QUACKIE Chan | 0 | 11 | 33 |
#2 – DUCK Norris | 3 | 13 | 32 |
#3 – Sir QUACKS-a-lot | 0 | 9 | 32 |
#4 – Christy BEAKly | 2 | 7 | 24 |
#5 – MALLARD Monroe | 3 | 14 | 33 |
A dominant duck display after first-race hiccup
Movie-star Mallard Monroe stumbles, then steamrolls after making mental and attitude adjustments
DUCK Norris was as shocked as anyone to take the opening race of the season at the Iron Duck World Championships (presented by Bootleggers Bar & Grill and SEFNCO Communications) this past weekend at Maris Farms. The quack-action hero turned duck-athlete happened to beak out a narrow win by stumbling over the finish line when newcomer MALLARD Monroe suddenly stopped inches before crossing the finish line. She appeared spooked by the large crowd who had gathered to watch the race, and Norris happened to cross ahead of the rest of the 5-duck field.
It didn’t happen again as Monroe got over herself and steamrolled through the last race of the day and both races on Sunday, silencing the critics who had begun questioning her ability to win on the big stage.
“She’s a movie star mallard who had dominated a lot of lower-level duck races over this past year,” said duck-race announcer and QUACKmaster Dennis Riley. “There were many so called experts who believed she was just a big duck in a small pond, but she obviously proved them wrong after that first-race hiccup.”
Yes, the blond-bobbed beauty was dominant in her next three races and left no doubt that she will be a force to be reckoned with during the 5-week long Iron Duck Championship series, now in its 10th season.
“I had to make an adjustment, mentally and with my attitude, after that first race,” Monroe explained in the final post-race press conference Sunday afternoon. “I wasn’t focused and sort of a little tweaked out racing in front of that large of a crowd and I just froze. After that first race, I went back to the basics – just like practice, just like all those smaller races I had dominated. It worked. I just need to keep my whits about me each and every time I race.”
For DUCK Norris, winning that opening day race felt like old times, when he was the dominant duck-athlete in the field.
“Yes, it brought me back,” ‘DUCK’ told a post-race gathering of reporters on Sunday afternoon. “I felt a little like a duck out of water coming into day-one, but much more in control and confident after that. I might still have a little gas left in the tank.”
Indeed. The sculpted and athletic Norris placed second to MALLARD Monroe in each of the last three races of the weekend. He could pose a challenge should MALLARD slip up again and he re-gains his glory days form from before 2020, when he and QUACKie Chan battled for duck-race supremacy. But MALLARD Monroe is up for the challenge
“Shaping up to be a battle,” she said. “Just because I appear elegant and demure, doesn’t mean I’m not a little dastardly in the duck pond…I wouldn’t take me lightly if I were Mr. Norris.”
For the weekend, a total of $88 was raised for local nonprofit Celebrate HARVEST through the “bets” that race fans placed (in the form of a donation) on the races. A total of 99 “bets” were placed and Sir QUACKS-a-lot had the most bets placed on him with 23. Racing will resume this weekend – Saturday and Sunday at 1 and 3 pm – at Maris Farms.
Here are the results after the first weekend:
